On IT Privacy Policy
This policy describes the current On IT development release. Payments are not enabled.
Your toolkit and your data
On IT – Networking Tools is a network toolkit from Ripply Apps. The app has no account, automatic sync, advertising SDK, analytics SDK or automatic crash-reporting SDK. Ripply Apps does not receive your scans or diagnostic results unless you choose to send them to us.
Network tools send requests to the devices or services you choose to test. The optional Cloudflare speed test also involves provider data processing. These activities are described below.
Connection information
The Information screen reads available Android network details to show your connection: IP addresses, subnet, gateway, DNS servers, interface, Wi-Fi name and access-point identifier, link details and connection status. Permission and radio status are used to explain which tools are available. On IT does not request GPS coordinates or background location.
LAN discovery and saved scans
A LAN scan sends discovery requests on your selected local network and processes responding IP addresses, advertised names, services and UPnP identifiers. Devices on that network can observe discovery traffic and your source address.
When you save a scan, On IT stores its date, label, network name, address range, connection context, device observations and scan status in the app's private storage. These snapshots support saved lists, comparisons and saved sightings. Saved scan lists are not uploaded to Ripply Apps or sent to the speed-test provider.
Diagnostic requests
Ping, DNS, TCP port checks, traceroute and WHOIS/RDAP run when you start them. The selected destinations and intervening networks receive the traffic needed for the test, including your source IP address. Hostname lookups may contact your network's resolver.
DNS lookup sends your query directly to the selected DNS server on port 53 without encryption; it does not use Android Private DNS for that query. Ping, TCP connection checks, UDP traceroute and local discovery are not encrypted by On IT.
WHOIS/RDAP downloads an HTTPS service directory from IANA, then sends the domain or public IP you enter to the relevant registration service over HTTPS. Those services handle their own access logs and retention. Results remain in app memory unless you explicitly copy or share them.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth permissions
Wireless discovery uses Android's Location and, where applicable, Nearby devices permissions to read available Wi-Fi networks and Bluetooth advertisements or discovery responses. Results may include names, SSIDs, BSSIDs or Bluetooth addresses, signal strength, channels, security information and advertised service data. These identifiers may be sensitive even though the app does not calculate your physical location.
Wireless results are processed on the device and kept in memory for the session. Discovery does not pair with Bluetooth devices. You may decline or revoke permissions in Android settings and continue using tools that do not require them.
Optional Cloudflare speed test
Choosing Agree & load speed test opens Cloudflare's hosted page. Cloudflare and its service providers receive your public IP address and web-request information. Running the test sends measurement traffic and performance results. Cloudflare says results are anonymized and published to Measurement Lab's public dataset and Cloudflare Radar. This is not a promise that the initial requests contain no identifiers.
Cloudflare controls its page, processing, retention and privacy choices under its own policy. On IT does not pass saved LAN scans or device lists to that page, read its results into app history, or give the page access to app files, GPS, camera or microphone. You can skip the hosted test and use the other tools.
Speed-test web storage
The hosted panel uses Android System WebView. JavaScript and site storage are enabled; third-party cookies are blocked, but first-party cookies and site storage may remain. Stop & close ends the displayed session; it does not guarantee deletion of stored web data or information already received by Cloudflare.
Clearing On IT's storage in Android settings removes app-held web data along with your saved scans and preferences. Back up scans first if you want to keep them. Browser data from links opened outside On IT is managed by that browser.
Copying, exports and sharing
Copying puts the selected report or reference text on Android's clipboard. Export, backup, restore and sharing use the files, document provider or receiving app you choose. A cloud document provider or receiving app may transfer or retain your data under its own policy. Review reports for sensitive network details before sharing.
Text, CSV and JSON exports are not password-protected or encrypted by On IT. Shared attachments are created in private app cache and exposed through a temporary file-access grant. Ripply Apps cannot delete copies kept by recipients or other apps.
Retention and deletion
Saved LAN scans stay until you delete them on LAN or clear app storage or uninstall On IT. Appearance preferences and permission-request flags remain in private app storage. Automatic cloud backup and device transfer are disabled. Unsaved scan, wireless and diagnostic results have no persistent app history.
Temporary report files can remain in app cache. When another shared report is created, files older than 24 hours are eligible for cleanup; this is not a timer that guarantees deletion after one day. Android may also clear cached files. Clearing app storage removes them, saved scans and preferences.
Delete exported files, clipboard contents and shared copies separately in the relevant apps or folders. There is no On IT account or remote scan database for Ripply Apps to delete. Cloudflare and other external services control their own records.
How data is protected
Saved app data uses Android's private application storage. On IT does not add a separate database password or encryption layer. WHOIS/RDAP and the hosted speed-test panel use HTTPS and certificate checks; several diagnostic protocols and exported files are unencrypted as described above. Device protection and the services you choose also affect security.
Privacy questions and support
Contact Ripply Apps at ripplystorm@gmail.com with privacy questions or requests concerning information you sent to us. If you email us, your address, message and any attachments are handled through our email service to respond and provide support. Sending reports is optional; remove details you do not want to disclose.
Support messages are retained while needed to handle the request and applicable recordkeeping obligations. You can request deletion of messages you sent us; we will explain any records that must be retained. Requests about data held independently by Cloudflare or another service should also be directed to that provider.
Optional support payments
The Support page is informational in this build. Payments are not enabled, and On IT does not collect payment details. This policy and the provider disclosures will be updated before a payment link is enabled.
Policy updates
We will update this policy when the app's data practices change and revise the date above. New permissions or provider actions will be explained where you use the affected feature.
